15/18mm American Civil War: Update 4, Infantry units.

A quick update on progress with the ACW collection. Things slowed down a bit as I have been busy with some non wargaming projects but here are the latest completed units.

This unit is made up of AB figures and featured in my Painting 18mm American Civil War Union post.

These are also AB figures except for the regimental standard bearer who is Blue Moon.

Next up are another seven bases of Blue Moon infantry and some more terrain, this time field works, rivers and bridges from TimeCast and fences from Ironclad Miniatures

More terrain

Tony.

  1. The union is always begging for reinforcements, especially under McClellan. 😀
I’ve been tempted by some of the Timecast stuff too, especially some of those flexible fields.

    1. Very true Stew. Got felt fields and roads on order from Hotz Mats, if they ever turn up, didn't like the look of their rivers though so went with TimeCast. Just got to decide on a paint colour for the streams/rivers.

    1. Thanks Lawrence. Yes the club is a bit short on river bits suitable for 15mm so decided to get my own, plus will allow for games away from club.

  3. Hey Tony, your project looks great! I have about 4000 10mm and i am thinking or rebasing them they are on balsa wood stands and I want to magnatize them, but it would be over $250 for metal bases for my 666 stands. how are you basing yours? Thanks, Mark (GROSSMAN on TMP)

  4. Hey Tony, project looks great. i am wanting to rebase my 4000 10mm, but it would be over $200 for metal bases for my 666 stands. How are you mounting yours, I would like to be able to put them in magnetized plastic boxes for travel.

    1. Mark, thanks for your comments.
Mine are based on 1.5mm thick plywood bases from Warbases (https://warbases.co.uk/product/plywood-bases-1-5mm/).
They then have self adhesive flexible magnetic tape applied to the bottom (https://www.first4magnets.com/rectangular-c35/magflex-50mm-x-24mm-self-adhesive-flexible-magnetic-rectangles-48-per-a4-sheet-p3706) each rectangle does two of my bases.
My boxes are then lined with self adhesive ferrous sheets.

      Hope this helps.

      Tony.
